NYCCT Policy for Websupport1

The City Tech Web Support site is for use among City Tech faculty members and their students. Its sole purpose is to advance the education of City Tech students, so the site is not be used for commercial purposes. The college does not review material and is not responsible for the content or viewpoints expressed by the individual professors.

Certain policies have been instituted to ensure high quality and consistent content, organization, and presentation of information on the New York City College of Technical (NYCCT) World Wide Web (WWW) server. At the same time, NYCCT has tried to avoid placing unnecessary constraints on the design and content of individual departments. Individual parties submitting content agree that the content meets the following requirements:

* The content of all pages relates to the function and mission of NYCCT. All content has either an educational or informational purpose and is not to be used for personal or commercial profit under any circumstances. If commercial use of a class site is discovered, the account will be terminated immediately.
• The faculty member or administrator uploading the content is responsible for the viewpoint of the content and its accuracy.
• This is a private Intranet and its use is solely for active NYCCT students and faculty.
• Bulletin boards and chat rooms will not be supported on the server.
• The content follows CUNY Policy for Computer User Responsibilities, which may be reviewed at the CUNY Web site (http://www.cuny.edu) under Policies and Procedures.
• All parties storing materials on City Tech Web Support are individually responsible for following copyright laws and agree that they will not violate any other party's proprietary rights and that these materials do not contain any libelous or defamatory statements. No user is allowed to distribute software,shareware, or freeware via the site under any circumstances. A link to the software publisher's site is acceptable (i.e., a link to the Adobe site for users to register with Adobe for Acrobat Reader.)
• NYCCT has the right to delete files that cause server performance problems and files that violate the law or College policy. NYCCT is not responsible for any errors in the materials provided on the Web.
• NYCCT does not guarantee that the server and system will never go down.
• NYCCT will not be liable for any damages that may be caused by the submission, installation, maintenance, transmission, copying, modification, distribution or use of any materials.
