Mathematical Biography:
I
work in an area which combines Analytic Geometry, Model Theory and
Commutative Algebra. My primary interests lie in the study
of analytic theories of valued fields. For me the source of
analytic functions is power series from certain rings and the questions
I have been trying to answer are usually geometric in nature. More
precisely, I am interested in geometry of various sorts of definable
sets over such fields. I also investigate algebraic properties of
various power series rings and look into questions of model theoretic
flavor about valued fields. I got my PhD from Purdue University in 2005 and my advisor is Leonard Lipshitz.
If you are interested in history and in no great hurry to get
back to work, you can trace my other mathematical ancestors here.
I was a visiting assistant professor at East Carolina University between 2005 and 2007 and still fondly remember the nice weather of eastern North Carolina. My so far only colloborator Zach Robinson is at ECU. Since 2007 I have been an assistant professor at New York City College of Technology which is a part of the CUNY
system. CUNY has a very active group in logic and if you are in town
and interested, you should definitely drop by during one of our meetings.

My hometown is Ankara, Turkey. I truly believe it is a very pleasent city, but I am biased as I lived there until I graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Mathematics.
If you are a turkish speaker, you may want to check Taraf Gazetesi for news and editorials. I think they do a great job.
Gultiest pleasure of mine is the card game Bridge. If you are still looking for a way to kill time, you may want to check Bridge Base Online.
