This talk will be an introduction to quivers and
their representations. We will discuss
the three representation types of quivers--finite, tame and wild--providing
examples of each. Next, we will
introduce Gabriel's elegant theorem which illuminates the connection between
Dynkin graphs and the representation type of quivers. Finally, we will briefly look at path
algebras. Path algebras provide a close connection between quivers and the
representation theory of finite-dimensional associative algebras. |
