The Center for Logic, Algebra and Computation (C-LAC) was developed to promote collaboration among mathematicians, scientists, students and members of industry. The collaboration is focused on applying the center's core fields-logic, algebra and computation-to solving practical and theoretical problems of mathematics, computer science, physics, biology and industry.

The center's focus is on research, education, and industrial collaboration. The research of the center will have applications relevant to financial centers, the pharmaceutical industry, software companies, and telecommunications. Our seminar series allows for dissemination, and discussion of interdisciplinary research, and provides an opportunity to discuss new joint projects. The speakers will be faculty, students, and visitors from industry. The talks will be accessible to advanced students.

We intend on supervising interdisciplinary student research at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition, our faculty members are developing curriculum for the mathematics program at City Tech and the CUNY Graduate Center. We hope to create courses in such areas as noncommutative cryptography, computational algebra, computational complexity, and quantum computation.
