Visual Literacy: An Analysis of the Experience of Visual Perception
in Design and Color and Life Drawing Courses

The following links lead to a documentation of the process in my classes in foundation art.
The process follows a Bauhaus pedagogical philosophy on the analysis of the experience of
visual perception. In both courses, the experience is build up from simple to complex.
Color theory is based on the research of Josef Albers. The students are freshman.

Design & Color, Visual Perception, Spring 2010

Students applied the two-dimensional graphic principles across a conversational narrative. They build upon each other's statements/threads on content and strengths. They incorporated sound—the music and the medium of a distinctive human voice of a student to narrate and conclude the end-of-semester class exhibition. The tools available were minimal—webcam. They accomplished much with so little and much enthusiasm.
